Michael Dixon, CDSP, IDI®-QA

Michael Dixon, CDSP, IDI®-QA, is focused on providing guidance about diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at colleges and universities, not-for-profit organizations, and corporations. Michael has more than 18 years of experience in higher education, primarily focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and strategy for more than 10 colleges and universities. His research interests include diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, anti-racism, multicultural and and Divine 9 fraternities, and sororities, and multiraciality.

Michael has co-authored a chapter “I am Black and… Complexities of being a Marginalized Multiracial Higher Education and Student Affairs Professional in Times of Heightened Racial Tensions” in the book Preparing for Higher Education’s Mixed Race Future: Why Multiraciality Matters (Johnston-Guerrero, Combs, & Malaney-Brown, 2022). Michael earned his certified diversity sourcing professional (CDSP) credential from Brain Gain. He currently serves as a trustee member and treasurer for the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Foundation through 2026.

Michael is a doctoral candidate at Indiana State University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and race from North Carolina State University and went on to earn his master’s degree in college student affairs leadership from Grand Valley State University. He is a 10+ year member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. He is also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Fraternity, Mu Beta Psi, a musical honorary fraternity, and Phi Sigma Pi Honor Fraternity. Michael and his partner, Ali, reside in Monroe Township, Pennsylvania, and have two children, Michael III, age 9, and Quincy, age 6.
